As of September 1, more than 47,000 Milwaukee-area seniors will have access to skilled nursing, memory care, and short-term rehabilitation services at Allis Care Center in West Allis, Wisconsin. Allis Care Center has expanded insurance acceptance to United Healthcare to pay for skilled nursing care following a hospital stay, injury, or illness.
"Allis Care Center is an important provider of health care services, and our new network relationship gives United Healthcare plan participants greater access to quality skilled nursing care close to where they live," said Annette Bohman, executive director at Allis Care Center.
In addition to United Healthcare, Allis Care Center also contracts with Anthem, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, HealthSmart, Humana, and Interplan Health Group. Other acceptable payer sources include auto insurance, HMO’s, PPO’s, Indemnity Plans, Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage Private Fee for Service, and VA Benefits. Allis Care Center team members work with any insurance company not listed above on an out-of-network basis.
The Center recently celebrated the completion of a million dollar renovation earlier this year that created 24 private short-term rehabilitation suites for those recovering after a hospital stay. Residents staying in the short-term rehabilitation wing can now use their United Healthcare benefit for their stay.
