.2 Million Renovation">
What started off as a nun's dormitory and nursing center 53 years ago has continued to evolve into the skilled nursing center now known as Allis Care Center. Through the years, Allis Care Center has expanded clinical offerings to include short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, wound care, memory care, and therapy services. As part of the ongoing updates to the facility, Allis Care Center completed a $1.2 million renovation. The center is hosting a community-wide open house April 6 from 4-6:30 p.m. at 9047 W. Greenfield Avenue in West Allis to show area citizens the improvements that have been completed.
The center has completely modernized 24 rooms for short-term rehabilitation guests. Of the renovated rooms, 22 are private suites so that our residents can recuperate following injury, illness or surgery in a beautiful, quiet space.
"The newly renovated rooms are already a hit with the residents who have been admitted. Residents are remarking that their room is warm and inviting. The renovation has had a positive impact on how residents view their care and their role in it,†said Mike Jones, Allis Care Center executive director.
The short-term rehab suites feature new flat-screen televisions and contemporary furniture, including a comfortable lounge chair for relaxing after therapy. The individual suite bathrooms have also been updated to complete the new hotel-like feel.
The public is invited to tour the center at the April 6 open house.
